The Word of Knowledge spiritual gift is a special God-given insight regarding God’s will applied to particular circumstances. However, the “Word of Knowledge”, message given to an individual or a church will always find support in the teachings and principles of Scripture. Accordingly, 1 Corinthians 12:8 identifies the gift of the Word of Knowledge among many other spiritual gifts. Also, a dramatic example of the Word of Knowledge in action can be found in Acts 5:1-11. Here, within this passage, a married couple decides to lie to the Apostle Peter, to the Holy Spirit and to the Church. The Holy Spirit reveals the truth to Peter, and then disciplines the married couple.
