Wisdom: A Spiritual Gift Definition
Wisdom, given by the Holy Spirit, help us “know the right thing to do, and how to do it rightly”. So, when we heed wise counsel, God’s will is likely accomplished and He is honored. Accordingly, people gifted with Wisdom may also display the complimentary spiritual gift of Knowledge.
Biblical examples Wisdom include the Apostle Paul’s gift-list in 1 Corinthians 12:8. Also, Ephesians 1:7, “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ…may give you the Spirit of wisdom….” And, in Colossians 1:9, “We have not stopped…asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom….” Finally, James 1:5 instructs: “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God”.
